Caretakers of God’s Temple

Through ignorance and lack of knowledge some well-meaning Christians have unconsciously destroyed their temples. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..” (Hosea 4:6). Consequently, the purpose of Wellness By God’s Design is to build a solid foundation of information based on biblical principles that will help to inform you on how to become a better caretaker of God’s Temple and to become aware of how much are food sources are being tampered with. God designed us as human beings to be ‘deep thinkers’…to ask questions, meditate (chew on awhile and think about) and to discuss. Unfortunately, this is a generation where we have rather innocently fell into to being 'passive thinkers’ without even realizing the potential dangers. (You can read more about this subject in Dr. Caroline Leaf’s book titled “Who Switched Off My Brain”.)

Over a long period of time, we have been gradually  deceived into believing that the “world” and/or our government knows what’s best for our bodies (temples). Years ago, Dr.’s told us that smoking had health benefits, but some Christians were convicted by the Holy Spirit and stopped smoking. Of course, NOW, there are all kinds of warnings about just how deadly they are, yet they are still available. Then, they CEF_9645 extolled the health benefits of Margarine and again they have to ‘back-track’. It’s detrimental to our health, yet it’s still available on our supermarket shelves. We as consumers put our faith in the government, that if it’s available on the shelf, it’s OK to eat. Do you see where this is going? Even now, we blithely follow the '”world’s” concept of a supposedly healthy diet and stand rather blindly on the scripture that nothing is unclean to us as Christians and God put everything here for us to eat, just bless your food and you’ll be fine. God does not lie and His Word will never pass away, but this is where deep thinking, searching for Truth, and allowing the Holy Spirit to prompt us when things are going wrong. And they are going wrong. Christians are plagued with diseases and health complications the same as the world. There is no distinction in the statistics!  Sure, God is more than capable of healing our bodies…He’s the Creator. But, He’s urging us as Christians to take a look at what we are consuming, because WHAT we are consuming is NOT what God Designed, nor intended for us consume as human beings! As the world and our nation progressively turns its back to God and ventures further away from His principles, the enemy of our soul is stealthily and gleefully working behind the scene. He absolutely hates God’s creation and especially mankind and his sole purpose is to completely destroy mankind in whatever way he possibly can. And friend, he has blatantly arrived on our doorsteps holding death and destruction in a sneaky and deceptive manner, and we as Christians need to remove the “blinders” and let the Holy Spirit reveal to us.

God designed man with an imagination and creative abilities, but those tools are used destructively if they are not submitted to God. We can clearly see examples of man’s history in God’s Word, when they turn away from Him. The world and our nation has placed the almighty dollar as its god and consequently have tampered and altered God’s creation to get the maximum amount of wealth, regardless of tburgerhe consequences. Have you really looked recently at what the ingredients are in the packaged food you are eating? You can’t even pronounce most of the words, which means, you don’t even know what you are eating! And just because it’s available on your local supermarket  shelf, does not mean that it’s safe to consume! God did not design that candy bar or packaged macaroni and cheese…man did and He  sure didn’t create the Bic Mac or the fast food restaurants! So why are we consuming this junk and then expecting God to bless it?

You, as a born again Christian, have a God given responsibility to take care of His Temple.

“Throughout Israel’s history, the Temple stood as the crowning glory of her existence. Its beauty and grandeur renowned the nation throughout the Eastern world. What a glorious Temple Israel had erected for the worship of her Jehovah! Centuries have changed all of that. God has chosen a temple other than that golden shrine in Jerusalem. Through His death and redemption of man, He has assumed a new residence!

“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (I Cor. 6:19)

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (I Cor. 3:16)

That was God’s plan from the beginning – not to remain in Solomon’s Temple, but to move inside the fleshly house of His own creation! However, It was not God’s intention to down-grade His living quarters just because He changed addresses. A slum cannot serve as the official state residence for a King! Unthinkable!

“If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are” (I Cor. 3:17)

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (I Cor. 6:2)

Just as God dictated His plan for the building of the Tabernacle and the Temple, so He has given explicit instructions for the care and maintenance of His temple – our body. We have been made custodians of His house, the dwelling place for His Spirit. We are to regard it a sacred trust. God bestowed dignity and honor to the body, for He manifested Himself on earth in a body. He intends for our body to be sacred – a channel of holy things. We experience salvation in the body and it is His only instrument of expression earth. He must use it. It’s all He has!

Therefore, we must painstakingly make this body the most wonderful, efficient, and valuable instrument for Him to use. It is not an optional assignment as many people consider it:

 “..I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (I Thessalonians 5:23).

Blameless? That means no fault, no impurities, no imperfections. Then we must learn to care for our body! But how? Through the pages of His Word are detailed instructions for maintaining bodily care. “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions:” (Psa. 107:20)

God created exactly what our bodies needed and then placed His most valued treasure in the Garden. Don’t you believe the Creator knows what’s best for mankind – His Creation?

  • 4 whole Apples
  • 1/2 medium Juice from a lemon  lempars
  • 5 leaves Kale
  • 2 cups Water

Directions: Blend until smoothie.

Guidelines to Drinking Green Smoothies

Through everyday blending, research, experience, and letters from readers, the Raw Family has come up with these basic principles for green smoothie making and consuming. To help people receive the most benefits from drinking green smoothies and to avoid some typical mistakes, Victoria created the following guidelines:

  • Prepare your green smoothie first thing in the morning in the amount that you usually consume in one day, one or two quarts (liters). Pour enough smoothie in a glass for your morning enjoyment and keep the rest in a refrigerator or another cold place.
  • Sip your green smoothie slowly, mixing it with saliva. Sometimes I put my smoothie in a coffee mug with a lid and carry it with me to the car or to my office. That way I minimize a chance of spilling it and keep it private without distracting others.
  • Don’t add anything to your smoothie except greens, fruit and water. I don’t recommend adding nuts, seeds, oils, supplements or other ingredients to your green smoothie. Most of these items slow down the assimilation of green smoothies in your digestive tract and may cause irritation and gas. Even though I provide recipes with more than basic ingredients in my books I encourage you to stick to the basic green smoothie recipe (fruit and greens) in your daily routine.
  • Drink your smoothie by itself, and not as a part of a meal. Don’t consume anything, even as little as a cracker or candy with it. You may eat anything you want approximately 40 minutes before or 40 minutes after you finished your smoothie. Your goal is to get the most nutritional benefit out of your green smoothie. 555px-Swiss_Chard
  • Do not add starchy vegetables such as carrots, beets, broccoli stems, zucchini, cauliflower, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, egg plant, pumpkin, squash, okra, peas, corn, green beans, and others to your green smoothies. Starchy vegetables combine poorly with fruit and may produce what my children call “gas 4 less.”
  • Don’t add too many ingredients into one smoothie, such as nine different fruits and a dozen different greens. Try to keep most of your recipes simple to maximize nutritional benefits and to keep it easy on your digestive system.
  • Learn to prepare a really delicious green smoothie so that you are always looking forward to the next one. If your drink is not tasty, you will eventually discontinue consuming it. Keep your taste buds happy.
  • Always rotate the green leaves that you add to your smoothies. Almost all greens in the world contain minute amounts of alkaloids. Tiny quantities of alkaloids cannot hurt you, and even strengthen the immune system. However, if you keep consuming kale, or spinach, or any other single green for many weeks without rotation, eventually the same type of alkaloids can accumulate in your body and cause unwanted symptoms of poisoning. Please note that you don’t have to rotate the fruit in your green smoothies. Most commonly used fruit have very little or none of the alkaloids and cannot cause the same toxic reactions as greens. At the same time, rotating fruits will enhance the variety of flavor and nutrition in your smoothies.
  • Choose organic produce whenever possible. The absence of pesticides and other toxic chemicals is only one of many benefits of organic food. The most important reason to consume organic food is the superior nutritional of organic fruits and vegetables in comparison to conventionally grown produce. We have been discussing earlier, how deficient most people are. The best way to nourish your body is to consume organic produce and whenever possible, locally grown. I consider it very important to get the fruit that was allowed to ripen on the vine because it is the best for nourishment. Creamy Mango Smoothies

1-2 mangoes  (depending of size of fruit and how big or small a serving you want)
1-2 bananas
1 container (6 oz-Passionate Mango) So Delicious Coconut Milk yogurt
1/2 cup Almond or coconut milk

In blender, place all ingredients. Cover; blend on high speed until smooth. Adjust ingredients according to how thick or thin you like your smoothies. Try adding mint leaves.
